SCENE AROUND: Summer Souvenirs

 

 

Bursting with color and familiarity, oil paintings by Great Barrington, Mass., artist Margaret Buchte capture vividly the full spectrum of Berkshire scenes. Her images range from picturesque farms to serene still lifes to lively storefronts—tributes to our landscape that offer a true sense of life in our region.

 

This spring, Buchte’s paintings, which range in size from nine-by-twelve inches to twenty-four-by-twenty-eight inches and are featured at the Lenox [Mass.] Gallery of Fine Art, were reprinted onto convenient four-by-six-inch postcards without losing an ounce of their bright hues.
