New dining destination in Lenox features sophisticated, seasonal comfort food

Seasonally inspired food is redefined at this new Church Street hot spot: the menu of simple yet imaginative comfort fare is rewritten each morning to reflect the organic ingredients just picked from Overmeade Gardens in Lenox and Farm Girl Farm in Egremont, Mass. Small plates reign in the reservations-free, slim-yet-airy dining space—seating twenty-two plus eight additional front-row perches facing the lively, exposed kitchen—and each is a practiced experiment in flavor arrangement (one fall evening featured suckling pork loin with roasted crimini mushrooms and hazelnut vinaigrette; and smoked skate with apple, grapefruit, and horseradish). And a miniseries of pasta dishes, along the lines of quinoa risotto with pancetta or cashew-pesto ravioli and radish greens, will undoubtedly excite the palate—there’s a reason they call the place Nudel.
