Gallery-shop, Suncatcher Glass, located in North Adams, Massachusetts, offers beginner workshops and lessons

Standing amidst her rainbow display of twinkling glass creations and delicate cut-paper art, the modest Anna Kronick laughs off the abundant praise from friend and former student Cathy Lively, who gushes about Kronick’s abilities as an artist and instructor. Her artistic skill, attention to detail, and bubbly persona make Kronick as bright a teacher as the lustrous stained glass that lines her small North Adams, Massachusetts, gallery-shop, Suncatcher Glass, which she opened in 2004.

Kronick offers the full gamut of workshops and lessons: while stained glass is her specialty, she also coaches the intricate art of paper-cutting as well as painting, drawing, and jewelry making. Beyond beginners’ workshops, Kronick offers continued tutelage, and sells supplies, allowing students to continue to create art once they have the knack—Lively has gone on to create a decorative lamp and even stained glass windows for her house.

Consistently optimistic, the bubbly Kronick says, “People think of stained glass as flat, but you can do anything.”
