A weekend in the Finger Lakes and Adirondacks of New York reminds me of the Berkshires' blessings

The long holiday weekend brought me out of the Berkshires and into two of our equally beautiful neighboring regions?the Finger Lakes and Adirondacks of upstate New York.?
?

Through a series of ?pit stops? between a wedding and its reception, we took advantage of our fortuitous route along one of the Finger Lakes? famous wine trails?stopping at three different wineries en route we sampled everything from tart dry Rieslings to crisp fruity Gewurztraminers to rich red Cabernet blends?

North Carolina band Johnson's Crossroad brings soulful mountian music to Pittsfield's North Street oasis

Willingly drawn into the sultry summer heat last night, I found myself at Mission Bar +?Tapas where a glass of Spanish wine and the mellow harmonies of the North Carolina-based band Johnson's Crossroad perfectly serenaded the evening.
