A transplant from Boston to the Berkshires in early 2007, Alison originally hails from northern Virginia (with brief stints in South Carolina and upstate New York). Despite her southern roots, she loves this northern exposure and uses her degree in Magazine Journalism from Boston University to fuel her penchant for exploration.

Since moving to the Berkshires she's enjoyed discovering the wealth of culinary offerings (especially those sourced locally), varied outdoor activities, and many cultural happenings.

Though "free time" isn't something she's familiar with, Alison spends her moments outside of Berkshire Living working with local youth through Big Brothers Big Sisters, romping with dogs as a volunteer dog-walker at the Berkshire Humane Society, and exploring the wide world of craft beer while getting outside as much as she possibly can.
